Introduction
Over the course of last decades, the proliferation of digital technologies and their use has undoubtedly had a profound impact on the way in which we imagine, organize, conceptualize, deliver and assess learning and the provision of education.
As a result a series of broader issues has arisen concerning, for example how and where learning takes place, how knowledge is generated and shared, the different ways in which students can learn and can be taught, the role of educational institutions in the present time, new ethical demands as well as moral ambiguities related to the ubiquitous use of technology, e.g., privacy, the use mobile devices in school, etc.
In order to dive into these issues and join the current debate in educational technology and educational research we provide in this section materials that will constitute food for thought for those interested in developing a bird’s eye view on what is happening in the present times in education.
